The Primary Years Programme at AISB
The American International School of Brazzaville (AISB) is now an authorized School for the IB Primary Years Programme. We successfully completed our authorization process by the IBO and now proudly join a league of IB world schools all over the globe. IB World schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that AISB believes is important for our students.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP).

The PYP is an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. It is a student-centered approach to education for children aged 3-12. It focuses on the development of the whole child, addressing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. It reflects the best of educational research, thought leadership and experience derived from IB World Schools.
At AISB, the students are given an opportunity to build a strong foundation in all the major areas of knowledge which include:
The PYP is an example of best educational practice globally, responding to the challenges and opportunities facing young students in our rapidly changing world. Our programme strives to help students develop an international perspective – to become aware of and sensitive to the points of view of people in other parts of the world through the inquiry based exploration of units under each of the six transdisciplinary themes and explicit teaching of the IB learner profile and Approaches to learning (ATL) skills.
AISB is currently at the candidacy stage and steadily progressing towards becoming authorized as an IB World School.
